pez, they are ep-630's. They're doing pretty well for me but I wouldn't rule out upgrading.

Do go amped on the Touch - huge difference IMO! Seriously, a good portable amp/headphone can do wonders.

Hmm... I would say that RS works well with all of the Grado and Sennheiser. Many of the pint class amps work well with most anything else.

the touch is said to be just as good as the classics and 5-5.5 gen ipods through LOD. I actually plan to get one. If you like the EP-630's assumenot, I think you'd like the Super.fi 3. They have similare sound sigs, but the SF3's have better highs and less bass.

Stunning sound indeed !

Is the plug coming out of the amp an attenuator?

Impedance adapter. It's basically a resistor in the signal path to the headphones.

You actually bring the 650s out?

Brave man.

Not as bad as taking the k1000 for a walk I suppose... [yes, I've seen the video]

The Cable and especially the AMP (Visely HEA-1) are very much the curtesy of SKYLAB...you are awesome!

The Microshar cable is held into shape by threads that I did myself into bands. This really relieves the connectors of strain and does not force a permanent change in the cable (like heat setting does).
