Those MBL's must rock your world (and all of those around you).

An Audio Research D79 - nice score. Beautiful sound - I had one of these with an SP 10 Preamp running into Stax Sigma headphones many years ago. Is the other amp a D110 or D350?

It's a D110 controlling the low pass and the D79 controlling the mids and highs. I really love this setup, powerful bass with great imaging and lifelike vocals.

Infinity RS 4.5's bring back some fond memories. They were the heart of my first really good system. front end was a Walker CJ-55 turntable,Grace 747 Tonearm with a Grado cartridge, a Apt Holman preamp, a pair of Luxman B12 Mono Amplifiers (Mid/Tweeters) and a Hafler DH-500 for the woofers. Pre CD's - I was 19 years old.

I think either would work just fine. Dont forget about the M30 either.

M30 worked better in my room than SHL5, so I agree ppl should try both before they settle. C7 was obviously inferior to both..

Harbeth works really well with Ayre amps; they have a warm sound, with great driver control and a SET-like presence. An Ayre stack + whichever Harbeth you can afford is a short road to audio heaven.

Unlike the monkeys, I'm not so afraid to stroke my monolith.

Afrikane asked me for a double entendre, so I gave him one. ¬ _¬

I'll trade my Stax for my perfect woman and throw in a bottle of Brewdog Tokyo* as well.

A beautiful, loving, caring, honest woman, who is also your friend, is more worthy than any material object, ever! There is no substitute, unless you are a lady, or a lady who prefers ladies, and the same holds true with men.

Every thing else, is just a poor substitute.
