Pictures and more reviews of the Earpeace Livewires?

I've had a pair of LiveWires for a few months now. I was one of the earlier adopters from Macworld. I've written impressions a few times, but was waiting for their site to go live with more information. Since then (the site has come along, but still not complete), they have made a few modifications. I hope to have a moderately detailed review of their current production phones (which I received over the weekend) in the next couple weeks. Because of 14 hour work days and a new amp coming it will be a couple weeks, but I'll post it soon.

Yea, and I'm waiting for a few more reviews before I take the plung. I'll have to sell my UM-2's to fund them but they look like exactly the thing I need. I"m really excited about them. I've never been fully happy with my UM-2's.

waiting.....tapping feet.....looks at watch..... scowls impatiently.

I got the G.A.S. bad. Just ignore me.

Well, i SOLD my um2 and am now waiting rather impatiently for the Livewires. Trying to get something cheap and with good sound for the interim period. Probably the M3. Heard them before but never bought them cuz i already had the UM2.

Well they WON'T WORK. Have you gone to the websites or looked around? these are Custom molded IEMs. Which means that you don't need tips or custom-molds-for-universal-iems you just put the whole thing in your ear.

The braided cable is a class offering that only a few vendors offer. For what it's worth, it makes the IEM last longer and offers considerably more flexibility over the long run.

Thanks for the great pics.

What were the original colors you guys wanted them in if not for the faceplate and the color limitations?

I wanted mine to be Transparent black with gold glitter (to create the gold sparkle effect) but alas, i couldn't have that.

I just hit the 1 month mark waiting for mine. Hope to either get them real soon or have someone call me back about why it is taking so much longer than I was originally told it would take.

Interesting option. I am on the pre-order list for the Westone 3s if they ever arrive. I thought these looked great, 260 from TTVJ. But once you add in the audiologists visit and impressions, you are getting close to the 399 for the W3s. Are customs that much easier than the universals? My ER-6is get itchy after half an hour. Most likely the same for the new Westones.

I don't know about canada, but certainly in CONUS, there is the SONUS network of audiologists, who will do your earmolds for $30, keeping the price under $300. Unfortunately, living in the UK, that didn't work for me.

In terms of itchiness, yes customs might be better, but if you spend all that money on something you can't sell on, only to find it still has the same problem, I don't think makes great sense.

It's been three weeks since they got my molds, I'm getting a little antsy (was told 10 day turn). BTW, I used a SONUS for my molds and they did a great job but the cost was $25 per ear (quoted from two different locations.) Total cost for me was $300 including impressions.
