I have a large, 14-conductor umbilical cable that uses Amphenol mil-spec connectors. I have the clamp type cable glands. What's the best way to secure (and prevent from unraveling) the tech flex that is covering the 14 cables? Also, is there anything you'd recommend to make the tech flex less transparent (i.e. hide the multiple colors I used in the cable)

Maybe wrap the wires with a cloth or something and then push the tech flex together to make it more opaque?

Thanks!

Did you use a hot-knife to cut the techflex? That melts the ends so it won't unravel. I usually also throw some 3:1 heatshrink tubing over the ends as well.

X2
Heatshrink is best performing and pleasing to the eye.

The heatshrink w/adhesive inside is nice, imo.

thanks guys!

I did a few things different this time, and it turned out very well. First, I added a bunch of slack in the techflex and instead of pulling it tight I cut all the wires to the same length with the cable in a slightly coiled position. This really helped out a ton!

I also included a pic of my Stax to Koss converter cable as well

thanks Spritzer!

This is the ultimate tweaker umbilical cable. I have three different types of cables in there: 1kV mil-spec teflon coated stranded SPC, pure stranded soft-copper, and soft silver with heatshrink, then cotton, then 600v heatshrink again... a total of 14 runs.
