Hi All,
I have had the Shure 535 SE for several months now and loved them. I did upgrade the stock cable to the Baldur MKII which was a very good move. Recently, I had them stolen from a hotel room on business travel. I did what I could to recover them, but they are gone. The crumby thing is that the new owner probably has no idea how damn good they are or what I spent on them. Oh well, if I help convert someone into a budding audiophile as a result it is all good.
In the past couple weeks since they were stolen, I spent a lot of time contemplating which direction to go. I considered over the ear full-size phones, but all the phones that appeal to me sonically are open backed and that won't work for me. I travel a ton and need them to work on the road/plane/hotel and etc.. I travel light. If Audeze ever makes IEM, I am the first to purchase. At home, I have a full size system with Revel Studio, Ayre, Jeff Rowland, and will honestly never listen to phones.
That leads me to present...I am flying out on Sunday and have reserved a set of 846 Shure IEM's at my local shop. I am pretty excited to give them a go.
What should I expect upgrading from 535SE with Baldur MKII to 846?
Thanks!
