I'm loaded with cash...what should I do with it? (no hand-outs :P)

What portable player would you get, why would you get it, and what IEMs would you recommend if money weren't an option? I'm a trancehead, but clarity is highest priority as well as bass (impossible feat?). I adore notes dancing around my head like a lightshow, what is your realistic dream setup? I quit keeping up with this stuff when the UE-11s were about to be released, how did they end up stacking up? I remember thinking about some e500s...now SE-530s I think. Input is more than welcomed

Definitely UE11s. I'd probably just pair those with an iPod Nano or something. Dream setup = unamped.

Although since seeing the ipod nano / tomahawk setup, I really want one. If only apple came out with a 16gb nano...

Sansa Fuze 8G / Denon AH-C551 (already own).... cheap portable rig, expandable memory player, great sound supposedly from the Fuze. I already know that the C551's hold up their end of the equation.

Splurge? hmmm... I'd go for the new A829 by sony with bluetooth JUST FOR FUN. Def. get Shure SE530PTH's. What better way to enjoy your music with crystal clear highs and mids and bodily and full bass? If you get the set up above I will personally be jealous of you :]

Sony A829
SE530

I just got the A829 yesterday.. and even paired with the Denon C551's (on sale recently for $65 at Amazon) it is a fantastic rig. I'm quite content for now.

I would get the iPod Touch 32GB.
Then get someone to DIYmod it and get a nice ALO connector or one of the great offers that members make ( cheaper too). Then I would get either a Pico or Tomahawk to power them.

In the end you will get a pretty highly portable setup that would be great with any lower impedence cans.

For cans..... I would say to make the jump to custom IEMs and I don't think that you will have a hard time with that...other than choosing. I know that there are a lot of UE fanboys here, but also look at ACS, Westone, Sensaphonics, and even hearyourself.com. Your best bet is in triple drivers because it will separate the bass better.

Honestly, I went for the Freq and while I have some problems getting them...customs would be the way to go.
