Again big things to Lee for extending his amazing studio towards us as well as for being an all-around excellent host

I've heard Stax on more than a few occasions, but this is the first I've heard from Justin's Amp!

My last listen it was just too soft, but there was an excellent sense of presence and tactility with this set up! I was impressed at how perfectly balanced it all was, a nice body in the mid range, good clean/clear attack on the notes, a touch of sweetness on the decay of the guitars, good solid tautness in the low bass and an excellent crispness in the drums!

It's everything you could ask for! All in one headphone lol

Living vicariously through these photos. One question, what are the cans with the maroon center & gold(?) parts? Don't think I've ever seen them before.

Pretty sure they were Telefunken

Lee,
Thank you for hosting again this year. This is the second year that I have shown, and I expect to be able to do so again next year.
I appreciate the opportunity to both hear gear, and also talk with other enthusiasts.

I think the headphones you're referring to are not the Telefunkens that @talan7 had, which sounded very good for $100-ish headphones - well that's at least what he bought them at. They go for $300 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/TELEFUNKEN-E...7248582&sr=8-4&keywords=telefunken+headphones

The headphones pictured are the Avantone Pro MP1s. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MixPhones They weren't my cup of tea. They were OK, but didn't seem to have any bass at all. They sort of reminded me of Sony 7506s.

Yeah it was the Avantone that caught my eye. Pity about the lack of bass.

@leesure thanks again for hosting this meet, its one I look forward to every year.

Listened to some very cool stuff at this meet, a stand out to me was the Feliks Elise, very enjoyable tube amplifier with a slightly relaxed sound, shame the price has gone up. Looking forward to reading people's impressions and comparisons, especially of the prototypes we brought to the meet.
