So i bought these cans about 6-8 months ago and they're the first ones i've bought.

I like how they sound but i'm only running them straight out of a laptop soundcard. One of my mate's has hd580s so i'll have to compare them properly some time.
The main problem with the 895s is that they're really uncomfy. The strap is pretty hard and the auto-adjust thing never seems to sit quite right. They're also heaps heavier than the hd580s (which feel like they arent on at all compared to the 895s).

So i made myself a cushion for the strap.

Found some foam strapping in an aircon box and cut up an old shirt to wrap it in.
Here is the finished job.

i was thinking of a solution too to the headache the shp895 giving me, and i found this thread, not bad, but i use it in the office, kinda awkward if my officemates saw that on my head

anyway, i was thinking of this thing that you put on the seatbelt as cushion? the one you wrap around the seatbelt and fasten with a velcro. i dont know if it will fit, but ill try to find one and try it, hope it fits

hmm, that's a good idea.

I've since lost the cushion thing. I followed a mod somewhere to put zip-ties in the gap where you stretch the cup out. It cuts down the tension of the band clamping on your head.
These cans are still way to uncomfortable though compared to the hd580s.

I'm gonna buy the hd595s soon.

Anyone want to buy the shp895s? I still have the original box.
