Anybody recables SHE3850 or SHE3950? My one's cable's plastic coating fell off and it gets this ugly look on them. Thus wondering if some one has any recable experience with these. Might pull off a recable on them if I can figure out how to open the shell without damaging.

Is it even worth it considering the cost?

So I bought a pair at Target, picked them up and they are SHE3550BL/28. They look a little different but the store tag and website both call them SHE3590. Could just be a store branding thing?

Tried to find them on the philips website and all I could find was this:

Philips should be $10-12, maybe $15 with the mic. There’s at least four models that are all the same sound-wise – SHE3580, 3585, 3590, 3595. Prices on all of them fluctuate, as you saw. Even at $15 it’s worth a buy, though.

At this price - it's hardly worth looking at anything else.

I had a gift card to burn up at target so I tried out the she3550. Looking at the graph at innerfidelity and listening to these, I would say these are probably the replacement model. There is also a store near me called meijer that also advertizes them as the she3590 but are also she3550 on the package. They have better strain reliefs on the buds than 3590s. So if anyone wants a local option today in the US I believe they are now called "vibes" " my jam". I will probably get the 3pack just to have them around and compare for fun.

Ok for the hell of it I bought the 3 pack of SHE3595. Quick measurement with my iMM6, the freq response appears nearly identical when I overlay them in audiotool. The odd thing about the SHE3550 is that the nozzle are not round but an ellipse shape and are straight. The she3595 have slightly angled nozzles and are just a tad more comfortable. When the old stock goes, I think these are a fine replacement. The low end is just a result of sealing issues when I was measuring.

Phillips she4305 bass+ are very different albeit better than 3580( 3580 fans, don't get triggered).

This iem made me remember the xb1000 by Sony which was marketed as bass headphones but were very balanced with twist: extreme subbass boost and extension.


Treble is balanced and is better represented here. Mids are amazing and bass is good. But the crazy thing happens in low bass and subbass, this beast boost its authority here.

Organ pipes are audible(15hz).

And it responded to eq pretty well also

Ess9038 made it crazy awesome.

It is like 3580 with reduced treble and way stronger subbass.

12mm driver pushes air creating bone conduction in canal, leading to bigger soundstage.


Just don't plug them with yucky sources. Normal sources are fine.

Yes In understand very well. I usually just use an xtrempro x1 and sometimes m1 combination for my IEMS. I think the usb is a rebranded dragonfly black, and the m1 a fiio e11 rebrand.

I wonder how they handle to a re400, which I find is quite Bargain as well at the prices .. i think now 49$ U.S.

Maybe it will not match in subbass, but it is a well rounded / musical closed IEM.

The 3580/90 does put up a good fight I will admit. Which is crazy for its $5- 10 price.

I got the 5900 for about €15~the TX2 for about €25.
For me They are better than 5900. I don't have them with me to AB with the TX2.

But here is a big jump to from the TX2 to the Sony MH1c IMO. The Sony's are just in a different class completely.
I do find the TX2 very comfortable, (tangle free manly) and I like the cable. I find the MH1c unwearable. I almost never use the MH1c for this reason.

I have a senn CX200 and CX475 and the TX2 would broadly similar in quality but they would be tonally different.
I've just AB'd them and my order of preference changed when I switched between my mobile and iPod 4th gen Shuffle, and different songs.
The CX200 and the TX2 do much better with the Shuffle than the phone. The CX475 is better with the phone. I prefer the TX2 in all tests, even if its not always a big difference.

The TX2 are my preferred bud in my bag. I don't have any more expensive ones to compare to.
