Need to by some new headphones, since my old Philips SBC3396 are really breaking apart. I find that old Philips very comfortable on my head, and has good enough sound for me.

Matching the planned pricetag, at the moment it seems like Philips HP890 or Sennheiser HD 497 is the two available.

How does they differ in quality? I am mostly listening to Springsteen, U2 and equal kind.

Is this for portable use?

If so, the HP890s, although not sounding too bad are absolutely huge, and are completely impractical for portable use
