Do any members have both of these cans if so which one do you think sounds better? And why. I would be useing A T/A with them.

I'd also be interested in the answer to this question.

I am thinking of getting a decent set of headphones soon and these two are on my shortlist.

In Australia I can get the HP890's for at most AU$150 while the HD590's would cost me AU$360 (halve that for approximate $US).

I probably won't be running them off a headphone amp, more likely off a soundcard (Audigy or Santa Cruz) or portable CD player most of the time.

I'd be interested in any comparisons that can be drawn between these two models.

Cheers

I guess we are the only two guys that are concerned about this pair of cans and what the difference if any might be.

Harvey Norman, Myer, David Jones all sell them for AU$149.95.

Apparently you can get them other places for less, but I haven't found any yet. I'm also looking into options of getting some from Malaysia which should be cheaper still.

Buddha, where have you seen them for $110?

The distributor is Crest, a Queensland mob.

Approach a hifi or electrical chain store and ask them to order you in a set. They will probably quote about $120 but try to bargain this down to $100 - $110.

I paid $110 in Perth, which must have included transport from your own state...

You may even be able to purchase from Crest directly?

Greystorm - don't forget that Beyers are very well priced in Australia

I'd be interested to compare the hd590s to the HP890s, I know I prefer the sound of the HD580s, but I haven't spent enough time with the 590s to get a lasting idea of how they sound when compared to headphones from other companies ranges.
