If they're the ones i'm thinking of, with the 'surround sound' feature... forget it, they're junk

I don't have PHILIPS earphone, but I have an old type " studio reference SBC-3394" big headphone and stylish neckband headphone (HS820). Both are quite good for me and for my "wallet".

For the earphone of PHILIPS, I have gotten the personal advice from an acoustic expert of Europe, what he said: "... new Philips SBC-HE775 will come on the market very soon, from what I have heard from a pre-series, this product has a very natural frequency balance, good dynamics and transparency, and yet very good bass reproduction for an earphone (better than Sony 888 or B&O A8)..."

Sorry for the confusion, maybe the 580 isn't so bad, but I certainly can't recommend the 590s, not unless you like your music at insane levels (which they do with relative ease, with an uncrippled ipod...)
