Philips Fidelio X3

Wait a minute, since when was the 5-Series an upgrade to the X2? I always thought both were pretty much sidegrades to each other, with very different goals in mind.
The HD599 and X2 aren't related at all, they just sound similar. But I think the HD599 have some advantages.

Not sure why Philips doesn't sell earpads replacements for both X2HR and X3. They're one of a kind too.

Cost of producing, stocking and distributing inventory for what would be extremely low demand (relatively speaking) items.

I can understand that for sub $100 disposible products, but when they're e asking for $300 and up its gotta be planned obsolescence.

It may be a little of that as well for sure.

The X3 comes with a balanced 2.5mm cable. If you want to use a 4 pin XLR you can buy a 2.5mm to 4 pin XLR adapter.
I use this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082Y6LZTD/

Is there any hope for selling these second hand? After like 2 months of trying at like half purchase price I'm about to give up 😞
You mean it's really hard to sell?

I had to go all the way down to 100 USD to get rid of my pair. They are MUCH better than that price... I just didn't need them laying on the shelf any longer. They definitely deserve more praise and attention than they receive.

Absolutely, and sometimes it can be timing on resale. I have sold many, many headphones and more often than I think should happen, a good headphone sells for well less than it should. It sucks, but sometimes we are the ones benefitting from a good used price so if stay in the headphone hobby long enough it tends to balance out.
