Philips Fidelio X2?!

If you dont want to detach the cable just search this thread and find the aliexpress link for the carbon case. X2 fits in perfectly. You have to remove the inner foam though...

I think I would generally recommend detaching the cable from the X2 when putting in a case.  I've heard enough stories about the X1 jack breaking to make me nervous.

Would you guys recommend me to get an amp/dac combo or amp or dac or A pair of HD598s or wait for the K7XX (already bought the X2) so since i bought the X2 already would an amp benefit me more or a pair of HD 598s(or a  K7XX) expanding my collection from the 1 to 2 lol?

That totally depends on what you use this for

Amp is not needed for x2, but a dac can fine tune the phone to your taste, and if you use computer, an external dac can get rid of emi noise

If you use headphones for gaming then virtual surround solution is a good choice

The k7xx is more of a sidegrade to x2 with different character based on reviews out there, so if you find yourself wanting to expand your collection the akg would be nice.

The 598 though, why would you want a pair? Heard that 598 is best for classical, though i think k7xx would do a better job

I just ordered an X2 from amazo.it. it's nice that overseas shipping excludes vat so it ended up cheaper than retail. Can't wait!

I know this has likely been asked a thousand times, but...

What should I invest into, the X2 or the HD650?
I heard they were really close (which is a nice surprise coming from Phillips if true).

No, it's close to the HD600 not the HD650. X2 will have livelier highs, and possibly slightly more subbass compared to the HD650, that should be more laid back. I found the X2 highs a bit bothering (but I am treble sensitive so don't misunderstand me, it is not fatiguing), so I'm really intrigued on trying the HD650.

yea I mainly listen to some electro music/house and classical like Philharmonic orchestras and movie/game osts . So I'm not sure which is better for my use, unheard akg is good because of its clean sound and good soundstage and heard the 598 comes across veiled
