I just got my Philips HP895's two days ago and am beginning to think about a replacement cable. The good thing about the Philips cord is that (ala Senn) the cord is detachable. The mechanism is a 2.5mm stereo mini plug that is inserted into the left headphone and then twisted to lock. Does anyone know if this can be purchased through one of the many connector suppliers online? If not, then it is indeed proprietary. BTW, here's a picture of it.

oh .. you're absolutely right .. i can plug this connector into the cans and not twist it .. but just figured if someone had found something about the locking mechanism, it may not actually be proprietary ..

as it seems, maybe it is

slightly going off topic, there haven't been much reviews or experimenting with these to see whether it's even worthwhile of a recabling
