Three generations of Perun headphones.

Here's my impression of each shortly. Driven with BHSE and Carbon.

Classic open-grill version

This is the “open grill” predecessor of the Live Sound version. It has a bit narrow soundstage in width but extends in height. The bass and treble is good, but the star of the show is the intimate smooth mids. Good for medium volume listen to vocals, acoustic and classical. Easy to drive, like Stax 009 and L700.

Before getting the Live Sound and Rock version I sold my 009 to enjoy more organic and smooth sound of the Perun.

Live Sound

LS is very balanced, clear, airy and has a huge soundstage. Everything has its location in the 3D space and the imaging is sharp. Overall presentation is very smooth and extends to both low and high ends. But most of all, it has very clean and natural midrange and bass texture with real weight. The sound reminds me a lot of Abyss Phi CC I had earlier. Abyss is more aggressive and forward presentation. LS is a bit more laid-back, clearer and cleaner, especially in the mids. One thing a noticed for LS is the mid-bass bump similar to 007mk1 which gives warm and smooth, non-fatiguing listening experience.

LS is one of the most comfortable headphones I have experienced. There’s very little clamp on my head but it still sits tight. It is as hard to drive as is the Stax 007mk1 and Phenomenon Canorum.

Rock

Rock appears to have even more balanced FR than the LS. The soundstage is [EDIT] similar to smaller than in LS and the presentation is more in front and centered. Overall, Rock is less laid-back than the LS. It doesn't have the mid-bass bump but extends lower like Canorum does. The mids are more distant and dry compared to LS. For metal and hard rock this seems to work nicely, but for acoustic and vocal I prefer the Classic and LS mids intimacy. Rock is also very comfortable to wear.

One strange thing I experienced with Rock was that they need lots of warm time to sound their best. It takes like 1 hour to really have the stators charged fully to produce maximal soundstage and weight on the notes. Initially it needs like 50% more power than LS and stabilizes to 10-20% more over time. I still don't know if I have heard it in its best... This is something I still need to test with time. Anyway, Rock easily gets the most listening time for me now.

So being mine haven't arrived what is the sound like?
I will only be using Stax 353X as I sold my BHSE. Only electrostats I like are SR007 mk2 and Hive Nectar.
Too enhance the sound of 353X I use my WA2 as the pre, giving it a tube sound.

My Rock is stuck in Kearny NJ under customer will pick up. Problem is that 1 1/2 hours from me. So I don't know who the bozo who decided that. This has been great experience. Perun should offer DHL shipping. I'd rather pay more to get it quick that's USA.

So now my shipment is lost. See post office A says it was sent to post office B. But B say they never got it.. A says B did. So this is great.

I’m kind of in a similar situation, it’s just that my package hasn’t even arrived in Canada yet after 63 days. Alexander and Arthur have been very responsive, but a refund may be in order by a certain point. I'm willing to wait 90 days for it to get sorted out.

My Peruns took longer than expected too, with some "dead" periods in the USPS tracking... But it did arrive eventually!
I am as patient as 3 year old toddler, so it was painful, and I truly understand what you're going through, but I think there is still a good chance one of those incompetents post offices would find your package... It is not exactly small
Fingers crossed for you, buddy!

So the story has a happy ending. It took the postmaster to say to post offers a yes we received it at post office me and was delivered to the destination. So I was lucky that post office they called me throughout the day to tell me where it was so they did their job the post office be sucks.

I am using speech to text forgive me. I will take pictures of the box and the contents inside hopefully work that’s all I can say

These are like two vey narrow book shelf speakers but lighter then anything that comes to mind. I'm at the lowest setting. Have to use the channel balance on the Stax 353X. This is the biggest sound that I ever heard out of any headphone. I'm hoping they will balance out on their own I don't want to send them back. Bass is good for estat mids are good treble is nice with air. It's like an Abyss 1266 estat. pics coming

My 11 year old stylin. Very holographic great for edm those spacey sounds hit the spot. I guess burn in will hopefully make them better.

Mine have just shipped and I'm very excitedly awaiting them! Hopefully I got them late enough to dodge the shipping hell :p I'll absolutely be posting impressions of it not long after I get it, alongside some comparisons to various other TOTL headphones like K1000, HE-1000, Lambda Signature, SR-Omega, etc.
