That is a low price from a moderately snooty outfit. We demand a review!

John

let us know how it goes.
i was browsing the AA site and saw other Perreaux products and they are expensive too so i think this headphone amp might be able to deliver unless the parts used are a lil on the cheaper side.

Well, it's an addition to their lower-end "Silhouette" line that just debuted three days ago on 6/26...the only other product the Perreaux website shows in this line is a phono stage. Here is what the copy on the Perreaux website says about the line:

"Conceived as a range of high quality, yet affordable modules; the "Silhouette" series will compliment and enhance your existing system. Incorporating the legendry circuit design and build quality that users have come to expect from Perreaux, the "Silhouette" series provides performance levels never before seen in its class."

Here is the PDF of the Phono amp's instruction book...it may give us an idea of the components and build used in the headamp:

I just called Audio Advisor and they said the SXH-1 would probably be in stock in two or three weeks. They are awaiting delivery of that and the phono amp and are taking pre-orders. (no...I didn't

He said there is one set of inputs. I asked him if he had auditioned it and he said they had & that although no reviews are out yet (it just shipped), he felt it out-performs anything in it's price range....so we'll see. <puts debit card back in wallet>

Perreaux has a good reputation, this looks like an interesting product. It does, however, appear from the pic in the AA catalog that it uses the same cheap and flimsey RCA jacks as the Corda HA-1. It may be a necessary compromise at this price point, but they break easily, especially when used with stiff cables and oversize RCA plugs.

John,

Perreaux has long been an outstanding company, its hard to imagine you could go wrong with a product from them, especially at this price. And, given the 30 day return policy, why not? You cant really lose. Not to mention, those new CD3000's are just crying for a new amp to power them! I can hear them all the way here in Michigan!

For 350 dollars and the company like Perreaux, this must be a very good amp. Wow....I'm ready for an upgrade myself. Anyone want to go first?

You guys! Actually my CD3Ks are very content with their Corda HA-1 mkII.

However....in a few weeks they may be in the mood for a little New Zealand Amplification Vacation.

Hmmmmm.....30 day return policy...and if it turns out to be a winner, I could always use a dedicated headamp for my turntable.

thinking......
