Nice - thanks! Note we sent you a blemished Ni - we run low stock consistently on the new A grade units, so the cosmetically blemished ones often are sent out for listening...:)

Anyway, glad you like it! It does bring life to just about anything you connect, and as you found - makes inefficient headphones really sound good!

been hearing a lot of periodic audio recently, specially how good it is for metal music..

im thinking either to get Mg or Be, however not sure if Be 200$ better than Mg..is there major difference?!

Ti seems to have different sound signature, not too hot on that one.

currently using Tin hifi T3 and grado iGe.

Metal-Fi reviewed the entire line, and awarded a Medal of Honor to Be:

I purchased my Be based on that Metal-Fi review. I did read just about every Review I could find mainly to get various points of reference since as I had no way of hearing any of the IEMs involved in the reviews and comparisons but I was able to formulate a pretty good idea of thje sonic signature. I could not be happier with them. Running of my Cayin N3 they sound fantastic with all kinds of Metal, Hard rock and Classic Rock. So much drive and energy. The detail and presence of the mid base is stunning. Base lines just pop not because they are exaggerated but because you can hear all their detail and they have the weight you get from a live gig. Drums are the same way. Mid and highs sound great as well. Nothing in your face or shrill. Detailed with that same live gig weight. Even on brick walled recordings the Be just make them sing.

Hi, I am prog rock guy myself, and seldom listen to metal, (with the exception of Umpfel and Opeth albums), but have been considering Be as an upgrade to my Ibasso ITO1, which treble I find harsh sometimes and a very prominent V-shape sound profile.
How good are the Be´s for prog rock and jazz fusion? was also considering Final Audio E5000, but discarded it due to the sound leakage.
thanks, Jose

^jose, if you have never tried an IEM with a beryllium driver before, you have to listen to one. The Be ( Berylliums ) are not V shaped, they have a bit prominent mid bass , but it is not bloated and is very fast and controlled. The Highs and Mids on Be are spectacular, super detailed and clear as day. Ive tried IT01, didnt find it special, and the fit was very uncomfortable. But from the first moment when i heard the Be .... that sound impression doesnt leave you, it stays with you.
Periodic has a blemished blowout sale at the moment. 25% off. The E5000 is nearly 300$, and its a tiny DD. Be is a 10mm pure beryllium foil DD, and you can get it for half the price of the E5000. It has no sound leaking, is very light, soft but strong cable, 5 year warranty. I would give it a try. Periodic support is exceptional.

bassct, that part of your comment just won me over. I will revisit the whole thread on Be, but pretty sure I´ll pull the trigger.
Just to wrap it up, how is the instrument separation and soundstage on Be's?
thanks a lot for your timely feedback, I do appreciate it.
cheers, Jose

Just put in a order for the Carbon. Can't wait, being paired with my Cayin N3. Is there a burn in time frame I should be expecting?

My Carbon sounded really good out of the box. A few short hours later, my iPod pro with Periodic Audio Nickel and then my Melco/Hugo2 had them sounding really good. There was a bit of upper mid/ lower treble improvement after a week of constant mezzo-forte to forte playing from the iPad pro/Nickel using my “basic training” playlist.

Please note that the week long improvement was minor compared to getting the right fit with eartips that sealed and isolated well, and that were comfortable. I ended up with comply 600 series isolating.

Happy listening!

Thanks for the response. How did you feel about the stock tips? I was planning on looking into spin fits or even using a set of comply as I have used and liked them in the past. Assuming the stock tips don't work out.
