Hey all, long time lurker first time poster here
biggrin.gif
. Over the christmas period i treated myself to a Grado SR80 after much research and a listen to my friend's SR60. I'm pretty much in love with it, and it's been on my head for almost 3 days straight.

Unfortunately, i have only been running it straight from my two sources, a laptop with a crappy sound card and my 2 x iPods, Classic and 1st Generation Nano.

I have searched the forums and tbh cannot find a real answer for the above question and I get the feeling I've come to the right place for an answer

Thanks in advance guys =D

Welcome to Head-Fi, sorry about your wallet.

I currently own a pair of SR80s and I use them with my RSA Tomahawk.

I find this to be a great pair, with the Tomahawk on high gain, hooked up to my iPod Classic, its wonderful.

But then again the Tomahawk is quite pricey, I'd probably also suggest, maybe, the Little Dot Micro+ - I have not used this amp with the SR80 but I have used it with IEMs and it was a good amp.

I have the iBasso T2 that I use with my SR-80s out of my 5G ipod and I'm happy with my setup. I know the T2 gets mixed reviews, but I love the portability and the different features it offers....X-feed, bass booster, high/low gain. It's relatively cheap and I like its sound.

From David @ Gradolabs

For any Koss and Grado lover I recommend the PA2V2 amp. It synergizes beautifully with any Koss 60 Ohm based and Grado headphone. You will hear rich, full sound coming out of the Koss, and warmer, less fatiguing and less sibillant sound coming out of your Grados.
