KickAss, which of your collection is closest to the signature of the legend?
That’s a great question and I’m still trying to figure that out. Please bear with me and I’ll let you know once I have.

Well I can tell you guys. Mine have been constantly playing music since I got them and I feel they are finally well broken in. I was experimenting with the switches again last night and. You can hear the effects much better after they get some run in time much better than on open listen.

I prefer all switches on the on position. It gives the best of all of it. Unlike the Tansio Mirai Spark which has more treble emphasis vs the Legend. Never had to touch the treble switch on them. I can throw on the treble enhancing switch on the Legend and it sounds excellent. I like the balancing better on the Legend in comparison.

Legends have quickly become my top dog in my collection. The way my pair sounds now is unbelievable. I do think burn in has an excellent stage enhancing effect on the sonics. It sounds way more spacious with a wider deeper and taller stage than on open listen. There is no question.

By the way. I got word of the value of the included Legend cable. It is not your garden variety throw in cable infact it will surprise you what Penon might charge for the cable here separately. Their choice of a higher end pure silver cable was an excellent choice as it enhances everything about the Legend. A very great match up.

Storms brings the Legend to what Penon had in mind though but your not getting some cheap throw in cable on the stock Legend when getting a pair.

Same here. They are just plain fun and engaging but able to do the more delicate tracks justice too.

I'm looking forward to them opening up even more - you've got more hours on yours, no doubt.

Would like to see a comparison between QDC Anole VX and Penon Legend.

Legend looks very interesting, but there's just not any data out there when it comes to graphs for all the different switch configurations.

Pretty large boost to the lower frequencies which I can definitely hear. With switch 3 engaged there is some incredible subbass presence that none of my other sets competes with.

The only thundering Subbass I heard was monarch and honeydew in iems , maybe one day I will have a z1r to try , speakers somehow I still prefer for Subbass idk why
This has like a good 15 db or more boost in midbass and subass from baseline in mids WOW !!!!

Properly powered, u will hear it.
They are a 50Ω load after all. Good news though, the Volt (dd bass) play the same scale as the 1R with less power requirement.
The treble on the 1R is endgame level...

It's certainly not messing around and clearly Penon is happy to eschew the sterility seen in some of the TOTL flagships. The 4 woofers can move some serious air on tracks by Lorn and in other electronic music.

I'm going to listen to some OST today, including Bladerunner 2049 and Tenet and I'll be listening out for the subbass carefully.
