Okay... I'm seriously looking into wireless headphones (I'm NOT a Golden Ear, I have a very minor hearing issue)... done the research (know the problems of wireless) and have narrowed it down to two (I don't want to go much over $100)...

I am considering...
Sennheiser RS-120 Wireless RF Headphones /or/
Logitech FreePulse Wireless Headphones

The main purpose for the headphones is to be able to watch TV and hear something, after my chic goes to bed (and not hear screaming “to lower it!!!” From the loft)... main purpose for wireless is to be able to get up and get a cold Bud (go potty, get a snack, etc...) without being on a leash...

Note: the property is approx 100-150yds from (below) a Sprint tower and all the walls are cement...
I'm leaning towards the Logitech (range would be the whole cottage), but like the idea of the range of the RS-120, for possibly being able to going out to grab a cig)...

I'm looking for any useful input... Thanks

I would guess sennheiser might sound a bit better just because of the name behind them... Logitech doesnt make the best sounding gear so you will probably get lots of answers like this:

Sennheiser
Get a cable

there is a rule against writing about wireless headphones on this forum-- the rule is that either nobody will reply or they'll only reply to try to convince you not to go wireless.

For the sake of simple practicality, just take whichever one is more comfortable and cheaper. If you want to use them for something more sonically demanding than sitcoms (dvd movies, say, or music of course), then I'd recommend getting a wired headphone that's easy to take on and off for occasional (self-)refill and drainage.

I understand your dilema. I have a hearing problem and also get bitched out alot about the volume. It doesn't bother me at all to use wireless for tv. I would never consider them for music, but for late night viewing, no problem. I use the RS120's and have had no problems with them. It is also neat how they charge automatically using their stand.

You feel Me!!!!!! You can't hear a thing and your still getting Bitched at... Right! I just want to chill and have a few cold ones... without getting bitched at...

Anyhow, thanks for the input... but a few of my concerns are that there is a Sprint tower close to the new place and was concerned that there might be interferance of some type and they looked a lil more fragile and too bulky...

Another concern is that I just moved here to the US Virgin Islands (landed a sweet job) and noticed that that the stand recharged, but it looked like a metal stand/charger... Everything rusts here!!!

Logitech dose have a shorter range, but it is smaller and compact... I just need to figure out the lesser of the evils...

Thank you ALL for your input... and I do intend to get a set of decent wired cans... however right now I need to take care of the "relax and chill factor"
I will need to research and come back to the wired ones later...

Thanks again, and hope I get some more useful input...

Never seen them mentioned on the forum, but if you are looking for a product for tv viewing only, check out TV ears.
Just type in tv ears on google and you will find them. I have tried out a pair that my friends parents use and they work really well. They are extremely compact. Might be what you are looking for.

MS/Ronnie/Mcoleg... I find it very hard to believe that you are that no one can give an opinion and like you are the only two guys that have better things to do than tear out/break things around the house with the cord and get bitched at...

Face, I'm sorry its below you to give a REAL opinion on wireless... However I just landed a nice gig in the US Virgin Islands... and we can't simply go and "try the best one's that fit" the main land is 1100+ miles from here and it's pretty slim pickings at The Radio Shack and Kmart... so if you want decent stuff you usually got to either pay extra, for air fare or have it brought in... Heaven forbid that its ordered and it dosen't fit/or something like a Sprint tower close to the house screws with on freqency and not the other...
Research has to be solid and there is not a lot of room for error... hence my questions in a forum for those who know... It's the trade off, I relize that...

I wish I had gotten a Pro/Con on the Logitech... but this item is for general and convience use...not luxuray...(as I explained)

I would like to appoligize to the aristacrats for any inconvienance... and those with a real opinion: Thank you so very much for your opinions and input...

hey Texas...

my wife works in the oilsands in North Alberta and has been suggested to get the Logitech ones, as they were solid and made sense. Also are battery operated. She "asked" me , to look into that and get her one.

I bought in the past some Senn for my sister , bought 2 pairs, and every time they broke on the DC charger jack, being pretty cheap.

I will probably get the Logitech from Tigerdirect.com

This is a review I copied about them:
"I am/was an owner of Logitech's previous wireless bluetooth headphones that were released last year. To my demise, i snapped the headband like most people ( and i have a small head too >>). Since then logitech has replaced the headband with what feels like a semi-flexiable metal rod covered with flexible plastic. Also they added better ear bands to hold the speakers up to your ears. Unlike the other pair, i feel these won't snap/break but since they're designed to fit larger heads than before, it's a little awkward to put on at first since the band sticks out from the back of my head a bit. Similar if not the same speakers which deliver clear and crisp sound w/o interference. They added the option to 'play or pause' your music which basicaly mutes the headphones (hit the power button once). They also come with the option to turn on and off a bass boost (holding the power and up volume for 2 seconds enables/disables this)"

regards,

i did an a/b test yesterday with rs140 and hd555 using digital tv feeds and some video from pc; both phones are connected to teac a1-d integrated amp.

hd555 is definitely more detailed but compared to rs140 its mid range seems way recessed. i can use rs140 at much lower volume and still hear people speaking clearly. i think it's a plus for tv watching.

i can see how the metal charging stand might not survive for long in a wet climate. i still think it will last for a couple of years though.

can't really comment on logitechs - haven't heard them. however, i have tried some other bluetooth sets and none worked too well for me. the range is way limited compared to rs and the connection drops is not something i can deal with. i do have lots of other wireless stuff in my place though so that might affect those factors.

i was planning to try this one next:

http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16833147015

and just use it with some buds i have.

how's amazon delivery to virgins? (that sounds kinda wrong... :P )

they have a bit of a sale on rs models going now.

Not at all, not at all, I think practicality is a real and serious consideration in these things, and you've got a definite situation to get under control between the TV and the better half. (and hey, I've been there too, man-- I've even had one charming lass tell me my closed headphones were too loud!) But what I meant to indicate with my post is that this is actually not a great place to get opinions on wireless headphones. Well, also that you can actually get much better sound cheaper with wires if you can stand them, but that's just the Head-fi creed, we have to say that part.

But to try to be more useful, I just looked up your two candidates on cnet.com, which is not the best judge of audio quality but is decent for real consumer performance. Also, if you read the consumer reviews (with a grain of salt, mostly), you'll usually find out if there is some weird issue that people have experienced with their headphones. And here's what I found: the logitechs are uncomfortable even to the people who like them and get really awful battery life-- less than the 6 hours claimed, one guy said under 2 and the customer support was rude to him for asking about it. The senns sound better, are more comfortable, and have much better battery life, but some people have experienced hiss in the signal. The bluetooth Logitechs at least won't suffer from that, but still, I'd risk it and go for the Senns first.

Have you noticed that Tigerdirect has refurb RS130 (not 120) for ten bucks less than the logitechs, and the RS140 for $99? These two should perform leagues better than the logitechs.

I have two sets of Sennheisers RS-120. I like them, they are great for watching TV with my wife when the kid is sleeping. My only problem is that the volume control got a little screechy in about 2 years, but once you set the volume it sounds good. Never heard the Logitechs.

Have used Senns (older model - HD8-9) for years for the same purpose. Family sleeps soundly and I have full mobility and fine TV sound.

Like others, I have no experience with the Logitechs.

on things... Thank you, again!!!!!!
I knew there had to be more people who need to use a set of wireless cans to avoid not get electrocuted while working, rush to the call of the wee-one's, allowing women and children rest, or simply choose not to destroy or watch all there a/v equipment getting dragged around the house at the end on a lil wire due to the need to save the day of children in need...

Anyhow, I have read quite a few of the reviews on both... thank you for the additional info...
Honestly the only reasons that logitech is in the pull is that they are small and compact and easy to throw in a drawer... and the reason the 120's don't have the whole thing is the wirestand and they appear a lil bulky... but the wire stand concerns me... the salt content in the air makes EVERYTHING rust... even glass (j/k)... and I'm not sure about them being able to fit in my A/V tower... so that mean that they will have to be exposed to the elements to rot the stand/connectors... I have to choose the lesser of the evils...

The other problem about the Island life... very few vendors don't consider the US Virgin Islands ("America's Paradises") as part of the US... and refuse to ship to the area even though USPS dosen't charge any extra... so that limits vendors luckily CC still believes in America, along with handful of vendors...

Thank you very much to the bold few who commented... and for the one's that allow your loved one's sleeping, stay at rest... I feel for you...

I know the wireless ones are lower quality of sound... but getting tangled up in the cord and knocking 3-4K of A/V equipment to the floor and getting yelled at while watching TV is not resting...
