From what I understand, the pc360 are very similar to the hd 598.
So I got thinking, why not try to remove the mic?
After a quick look at the pc 360's it does not appear to be an easy task to remove it.
But I will. And tonight I'll post pics.
The reason I am doing this is because I'm nuts.
The objective was to make the pc360's into hd 598s.
Sennheiser pc 360 = 225 cad + shipping from US, otherwise 299 + tax in Toronto, Canada
Hd 598 = 350 plus tax at bay bloor radio in Toronto, Canada
I was successful. Mic was removed.
Stupid me complete missed the locking mechanism of the ear cup holder. But alas, it was something small that I overlooked.
The great thing is these are now portable with an in line mic boost.
I'm posting this because on my research there are almost zero threads online regarding modding the PC360, nor regarding removing the mic -- something one might be interested in.
Onto the crappy pics.
That hole you see where the mic originally was I plan to fill it with rubberized glue or something of the sort to 'fill it in'. I will then sand it down and remove with sandpaper that ugly PC360 G4ME symbol. lol.
Thanks for looking, hopefully this was useful.
Also, I know nothing about modding, this is my first real mod.
Thanks,
Shawnj0
