Hi,
I just bought entry level SENNHEISER HD-212 & HD-202, to use them in my PC, mostly for gaming and a little to hear my MP3.
At first I didnt like them because of the lack of bass and soundstage, it seem out of life, but it was plug directly to my soundcard. But I thouhgt a 32Ohm and 115 Db headphones will be very easy to drive. But the sound wast there, even when I plug them to my AV reciever (marantz SR6200). But when I unpacked my generic $10 PC speakers, and plug the to my souncard, and then plug the headphones to the speakers phone jack, the heaphones came alive, the sound is very good. This comes to prove me that all headphones benefit a lot from a dedicated amp.
Now I was thinking on detroying my computer speakers, and building an amp, do you guys think is a good idea, I dont want to spend more in the amp that I paid for the headphones.
Thanks,
Pablo Abularach
