Hi,

I am debating if I should get a new PC sololy for a media transporter.

My current equipment that i have are:

-NAD M51 Dac
-Woo Audio WA 22
- Audeze LCD-3
-(All lossless playback)

Some of my questions are
1. Is a PC any good as a tranporter considering PC components are not exactly what I would consider audiophile grade. Does it really matter if your using it as digital out?
2.Considering a USB cable can affect the sound ..maybe the PC can be upgraded or replaced to get some kind of improvement?
3.Or maybe i should not even consider a PC as a transporter and just go get something like PS audio Transport..etc instead??

Sorry my questions are not very structured, just want to hear some recommendation from some audiophiles...

Many thanks

Through careful component selection, you can get a very high quality transport through a PC. However, you would have to pick some components that are geared towards purposes other than audio, but some of its features are relevant for audio playback. And despite some people saying digital out can be run perfectly well out of a $1 onboard audio chip, a dedicated device will provide better results.
