been trying to transact with a fellow head-fi member.
problem is, he cannot accept credit card payment.

when I try to add money to "paypal from bankaccount" it only gives the option of an american bank, so that's a no go.

other member says he would have to upgrade to another level (read; pay more money) to be able to accept my payment.

I have a visa debit-card that connects directly to my savings account and have used it on 2 occasions (with good success) in USA and Canada

can anyone tell me what I need to do?

Either he needs to upgrade his account to premier (IMO a pain in the ass) then he can accept paypal payments. But there is a down side to this he will get charged I think 3.4% regardless if it is a non-cc or cc payment.

Have you had your bank account verified by paypal???If you have you can directly pay from your bank account. This is how I mostly pay if I can. That way you bypass the visa companies. There should be an option to verify your bank account.

hope this helps.

He could open a second account. Many people have a personal account and a premier account to avoid fees when possible. A second bank account is necessary for this.

Another option is to send the money to someone who can accept CC payments. They can then forward the money to the proper person. The person who accepts the payment will still be charged, but that is unavoidable.

I transfer money from my bank account to the local Paypal bank.
Then they add it to my Paypal account and I can send it without fee.

Cheers
