I had the pleasure of finally seeing Patricia Barber last night in concert. She doesn't seem to conduct many tours outside of the Chicago area, but is on the east coast for a few days this week. I drove 90 minutes to Charlottesville, VA to see her play as a duo, with her bassist. The concert was held in a church and they brought in a Fazioli piano for the event. We arrived somewhat early, and was able to get seats in the front row pews of the church. One 90 minute set was played with some songs from her newest album "Higher" along with a few of the classics. Truly, a once in a lifetime experience for me. The tickets were just $20, each, plus a small service fee.
