My Theta DAC (Basic IIIa) drives my Sennheisers very nicely out of its analog outputs, but the volume is too high, 3.7 volts, 50 ohms output impedance.
Anyone know of a simple, high quality attenuator I can insert between the two? Not too expensive?

when driving headphones directly from a line level output the normal attenuator circuits you see will be useless. The impedence will be way too high and you will get not only signal attenuation but the high frequencies will be attenuated as well.Check out the headwize website under "headphone FAQ".There you will find the information you seek for a low Z attenuator
