Just curious what everyone's experience with Parts Connexion is.

I've ordered from them many times, have spent several hundred dollars at this point, but have recently encountered some troubling behavior. After a bad experience with Welborne Labs I'm hoping this is an isolated incident and won't happen again with PC.

I agree completely with the first part, I have ordered from them many times, never had any difficulties. Sometimes they are a little slow with replying to emails, but it's never any problem.

I'm very happy with their prices and their customer service considering I must have changed my order at least 5 times during their last 15% off everything sale and they still let me.

What was it that was troubles you?

My intention isn't to publicly slam them or anything, and I could be misreading..but as I said I've ordered probably 8 times from PC. A couple times there were shipping issues or a mistake on the invoice, and we interacted with your basic short, professional emails.

This last time there was an issue with shipping; the express shipping, which I requested, would have cost almost as much as the order itself. They let me know this by email and offered a cheaper option (so far so good) and said they would call me if they didn't hear from me. As soon as I saw the email I responded, Yes, I would prefer the cheaper shipping option, thanks very much for the heads up (w/greeting, "regards" etc.). Short, to the point, appreciative.

Their response email was suddenly in all caps, green in color, reading THANKS YOUR WISH IS OUR COMMAND HEHE.

It just struck me as really weird that they'd be so professional in the past and suddenly respond that way. Maybe it's just playful, but I read it as kind of snotty. Oh well, it's not ruining my day or anything, but it was kind of puzzling. Maybe I just don't get Canadian humor.

Wow, and I thought you were having some kind of actual "problem". So a rep was in a good mood and decided to respond friendly, big deal.

Sure, the first email is usually formal, but a back and forth exchange, especially when they're considering your best interest and correcting your shipping options, it seems foolish to get all worked up about somebody saying "Sure".

My conversations with them usually end up something like that if I have to fix up things or change orders. They are humans after all, and it's not some huge faceless corporation.

Yeah, whatever it is I'm over it. Probably am worked up over nothing. But I've done mail order internet business with many, many people and that's the first time I've encountered such an ambiguously "friendly" response. Not to sound paranoid but sometimes stuff like that is negative. Anyway, thanks, sorry(?)...

HAHA What?

That's funny, creepy, and totally random all at the same time.
I'm sure if I got an email like that from a retailer I'd have a good chuckle though...

Too much silliness can definitely look unprofessional. I'm with you on that.
I'm surprised to read of these odd emails. My previous experience with them has been 100% good, and professional as well. I would guess that they have hired one new customer service person who may not be "in the know" about being professional, and what that might look like on the receiving end. What this brings to mind for me is, "Will they be as unprofessional with my credit card number?" Certainly a subtle question in my mind...

It's just completely random humor. Like from newegg when you communicate with them they say Eggcelent and eggtastic.

Although, I think that if I got the first green message I would think that I got hacked and then probably laugh because it's so unexpected. As long as the order comes and it has no problems, I don't think you should have anything to worry about.
