Oh well it's indeed a love/hate story with this phone, so much to love once modded huh.....it's currently 85% love / 15% hate for me atm :p
I listen to these stock all the time.
They can be a little bright but nothing a slight EQ cant fix depending on the kind of music. Otherwise they sound great and most of the time need no EQ.

I especially love the bass, it just never rolls off huh!

Using dynamat + twaron angel hair to drastically tame the railway station hall stock sound.

Most significant mod you can do to this headphone. Can confirm.
Didn't think there was enough space in the cups for any amount of damping material.
Using sorbothane here (and twaron hair) , with excellent results.

Definitely glad I didn't sell mine now :3

It won't sell anyway coz it wasn't hyped enough and I'm glad I got spare earpads while they were available coz they're OOS again. This phone deserved so much better but Pana aren't quite ready to fight the audiophile phone war as it would appear and that external empty double cup was a double facepalm acoustics-wise.

They were probably trying to get more isolation for outdoor use.
That's the only thing I can think of.
