Hi,

I have just bought an OBH11-SE complete with OBH-2 PSU for a VERY reasonable price

It's a revision A (in that the serial number starts with A)

As you know there are two sockets on the front, I was wondering if you could tell me which is the best one for the HD580's. I'm assuming this is the higher impedance socket, but which one is it in relation to the volume knob?

Hope you can help, anyone else (Duncan?) who's had experience also welcome to comment.

The socket which is closer to the volume knob is the lower impedance one (it is easy to check - it is a bit louder)

Not sure I'm fully up with the lower and higher bit yet, would you say the socket nearest to the volume knob would be the best one to use and drive the 300ohm 580's then ?

you just need to try - which one sound better to your ears. I found that 580 and 600 do like low output impedance on the amp, not high.
