I recently bought an RE0. My understanding was that this is best worn in an over the ears style. However, when I try this, I find that the cable starts to unravel from over my ears

Also I use the clip to clip the earphones to my shirt. I tried to use this to make sure the cable is tight over my ears by pulling the clip to the front. But naturally this way the cable is tighter over one ear than the other. This might be a silly question, but how is the cable worn right?

It's not a silly question at all. The best way to work out how to wear them is to experiment. There are a few ways people wear them but you need to work out what works best for you. Same deal with IEM tips. Just keep trying different ways of wearing them until you find something that suits you.

Yea it works different for everyone. I always wear my IEMs over the ear; it used to be for the microphonics reason but now it's just out of habit and gives the IEMs a place to rest when I have to pull one out for a second.

Many cords get shaped with continued use so they don't fall off the ear easily when worn over-ear. Some don't though. I don't know about the RE0, sorry. Never owned a pair.

The over-ear fit is as different as each unique ear shape. I have freakishly small ears, and I like to wear iems over-the-ear, so is has been a problem I've also been dealing with. For me, some of the best over-ear fit iems were the RE0's, UE sf5's, triple.fi (memory wires) atrios. The worst (and most painful) for me were any of the Shure SE series, and the Denon series because the modular cable attachment on both created extra weight that caused pain over my ears where the wires would hang. Honestly, the best solution would be a pair of silicone/plastic ear guides that route the wire over each ear in a comfortable manner that stays in place. Check out phonak's site Audéo - Perfect Fit Earphones for a decent pair (i believe they're in the accessory section). These have been the best solution for me.

well I first just wanna make sure Im doing it right. it's just that I can route it over and into my ears, but eventually slack seems to build up and it falls off from over my ear, Im wondering how people keep it taut (without damaging the wire) and specifically taut over both ears.

i get that sometimes with the RE0. I got myself a pair of ear guides to help with that when that arrives..however as of now I typically keep the metal slider thing as far up as I can without it getting uncomfortable and that typically keeps the RE0 behind my ears and not fall out.

I have a similar situation with the Turbines, for me to be able to loop over the ears I had to make my own cable slider which works alright. You may have to experiment with the angle of the IEM when its in your ears to keep the wire resting behind the ears and preventing it from slipping off the top of the ear. You can try to point the strain-relief part of the IEM toward the front a little instead of pointing straight up or vice-versa. Either way, the only way I can get them to stay on my ears is to keep the slider as tight as I can stand and they usually dont go anywhere.
