Hi all,

right now I have pair of ATH-IM50 IEMs. And I like the sound signature and bass detail of them a lot.

but I'm facing fitting problem as my ears are small.

so looking for Headphones with same sound signature as ATH-IM50

Range: 100$ - 150$
type: over ear
music: dubstep, alternative, ambient
source: HTC E8( android), desktop(gaming)

already looking to buy ATH-M50 or ATH-Pro500mkII

thanks in advance

Still no response !!
Please guys suggest me.

Does ath-m50x need external amp with android phone?

Really torn between m50x, ws77, and pro500mkii

Anybother suggestions?

M50X and Pro500 mkii are both 38Ohms most android phones will drive up to 32 Ohms so i dont think it will be a problem.

The M50X and M40X have the same drivers i think and the m40x cost less... Over hyped the M50X IMHO...

WS-77 are a bit more hard to push at 47ohms may need an amp to drive i do not know...

Thanks for the reply.

But i have heard that m40x lack in bass response than the m50x. I mean i'm no bass head and hate the sound signature stock htc one earphones and beats(to much base) but still i prefer little bit( somewhat like im50). Also As my brother has HD180, and to me they are totally not worth and the bass response is absent.

In my place both m40x and pro500mkii are available at much lower price than m50x.

M50X all the way. M40X are a smaller and cheaper driver tuned to sound similar to M50X with more prominent treble. I do think they are overpriced at 169. I'd wait for 129 or less to buy M50x's. They work well for dubstep.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I think I will go with m50X or wait for them to get more cheaper as there is festive season at my place so might get them on discount.

but any comments on pro500MKII? i haven't seen much reviews about it on the internet. as per my understanding they are more portable than m50x. is that true?

they are on sale right now for 129$ right now on amazon, link: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1445937227&sr=1-1&keywords=m50x

they will probably go on more sales in the future, since they are so popular, but not sure how low these will get

Wow, I said wait for 129 and the following day they lowered it to 129.

They have been as low at 99 but this is very very rare.

Pro500MK2 53mm drivers I think they are more DJ style so I assume more bass bloom and more tizz in some higher frequencies. I doubt they are as good sound quality as the M50X overall but may be more fun for dubstep. Theyre smaller on ear earcups so I'm going to say the M50x are more comfortable. I would definitely read up on some more reviews on both to see which one you might prefer.
