I'm curious whether there are any people that actually prefer closed phones to open ones based on sound alone (not isolation).

EDIT: This is my first poll, so hopefully I didn't make any mistakes ..

Well I haven't heard lots of open cans before, but I don't like the airy sound of my HD490s and HD515 seemed to have the same affect when I listened to them briefly in a store(also they sounded muddy if thats the right word). I prefer the sound of my HD280s at the moment.
Are there closed cans out there that can compare to the best open cans? How do those closed woody Audio-Technicas compare to the open Senns?

EDIT: I think I should try more open cans before I can say that I prefer closed cans more.
