Hi, simple question, how many milliwatts is the output per channel on the american version Ipod classic 120 GB? Hope it's more than on the tamed EU version. Or should I look for a different player for a decent sound and volume?

Cheers,

Dennis.

Form what we've summised it's stays constant @30mw per channel on the classic, I think the nano is also the same. The touch has a lower output volume, but is cleaner sounding than the classic though. The nano 4g is about as clean sounding as the touch they say.

30mw. should be enough... the EU models only have 5mw. per channel, thank you Lord Europe for saving our ears...

Cheers,

Dennis.

remember though that it's a log curve, so 30mW isn't even double the volume of 5mW.

Despite having a more powerful headphone output, my old 3G Nano had to be turned up louder than my A728 does (and the A728 is 5mW+5mW @ 32ohms). I generally had my Nano on 60% volume with ER-6i, while the A728 generally sits around 12-14/30.

1,5 mw per channel... that's nothing.

It's rated @5mw per channel in the US - but it's definitely louder than that. @50% volume it's equal to my D2 @50% volume. That should tell you something about the mw ratings, especially in North America: BUNK!!!

Confusing if ratings don't tell you how loud the player is..
