(Cry...)

So, here comes a new question.

I need some outlet for my new place, any good choice?

Please no Hubbell or Cooper, I don't like the sound with them.

Thanks for your inputs!

There are many different kinds of "Hubbell," some much better than others. The Hubbell IG 5362 AC outlet (not the regular "5362") is an excellent outlet, especially after being cryo'd.

Which Hubbell and Cooper have you tried, and what specificly didn't you like about them?

Hubbell IG8300(Before)and ATL 880 Cu(Now), IG8300 was too much strong with every range.

ATL 880 was much smooth, and bring more detail and soundstage. But the ATL outlets not as tight as IG8300 when plug.

Maybe I'll try some Oyaide (cryo'd), looks great.

Any one using Wattgate? Also looks great.

The CryoParts store has some extensive inventory. Unfortunately, they don't carry IG5362, which is unique for being Phosphor Bronze, not brass, as well has having Isolated Ground. After cryo, it happens to sound incredibly musical with resolution.

Whatever outlet you choose, I would highly recommend going in the wall, cutting off the oxidized parts of the internal wire, applying a bit of Walker SST on the contact. Also use SST on power plug blades (carefully). I find this stuff to have an "equalizing" effect on interconnect connectors, AC plugs/outlets to let many to play in the big leagues.

My poor wallet...

Actually, I should have said SST Extreme, which is what I've tried. Quicksilver contact cleaner is reported by some to be as good/better and "cheaper." However, if you look at $ per ounce, it's the same (different bottle size). I wrote a bit about SST Extreme here:

Best I have owned is the Acme Audio silver plated receptacles. I was and still am pretty stunned by what it does (I just moved and recently installed it in my new home after forgetting I had it for months and heard a big improvement once again).

Jon L what do you think of these?

I have used the ACME 20A cryo'd for long time and still have some in my system. It's biggest downside the god-awful-long break-in time. After fully burning in, ACME gives tremendous detail resolution and focus. No veiling or mushiness here.

It's just that in this day and age, when most people are using digital sources, ACME everywhere may be too much of a good thing. I prefer to use the Hubbell IG5362 double cryo for my digital front-end, SS stuff and the ACME for my tube amp, etc to create a nice balance.

I've got a Hubbell IG5362 double cryo coming my way. I'm going to seperate my analogue and digital in my diy power conditioner, and use the hubbell for digital. I currently have a furutech silver doing double duty.

Biggie.
