Right now I only got a 2.5mm 3-wire cable from my OKCSC M2 and the 9038s only supports four wire (trrs) 2.5mm otherwise the dac/amp gets damaged. I have been looking to get a 2.5mm trrs cable but they are either expensive as hell, shipping is expensive or would take months because of the covid restrictions. I should have bought the 9038D but the Susumu3000k was on sale once iirc for around 128NZD and was considerably cheaper than the D version which was like 170NZD. Also I live in New Zealand and I cannot find a single 2.5mm trrs balanced cable here but Australia is very close to me that I am confident from buying in Australia even with the covid restrictions in place. Budget for a 2.5 balanced cable of 30NZD. Also if it is considerably cheaper, and if the parts are available here, then i will go for making my own cable instead.
Also just a quick question but for a 2.5mm cable to be balanced does it have to have two rings?
