Hi,

I recently purchased the 1820M and am very impressed with it.

The thing is, it would be nice to not have to be at my computer to listen to all my music. As my stereo is about 15-20 feet away from my computer, I was wondering if there is some sort of low cost transmitter that I could use to "broadcast" my sound card signal to my FM receiver?

Thanks,

JC

Perhaps the airport express? It's a bit pricey, but once u factor in all its features, I think it a good buy. Wireless router, usb printer sharer, bit-perfect digital out.

You realize that by transmitting your audio wirelessly, you will loose quality?

At least in an analogue system you would. Digital also has its problems.

You'd probably be better off with a long interconnect, but if you go high quality you'd probably spend $500+ for a 25' run! On a run that long the quality of an interconnect DOES matter, so you probably want to go high(er) end.

Maybe it's time to re-arrange your place

How about using a long digital cable from the emu to the receiver?

Hmm,

I'll buy that. I'll need a cable about 22 feet that will go OUT of my E-MU 1820M and INTO a Pioneer VSX-D906S.

What brand of cable do you recommend and where do you recommend I buy it?

Thanks

JC
