Did a quick search, there is this thread which is not really OT enough for me:

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/macos-users-what-player-with-eq-and-flac-do-you-recommend.869534/

https://www.head-fi.org/threads/roon-vs-amarra-vs-audirvana-on-mac.879439/ <neither are specific to what I'm looking for, couldn't find much on the osx side for what is currently best/works well, a few threads on Win 10...so

I was reading this thread by Lunatique from 2016, which is somewhat dated in that the author stopped using iOS 2013 (have not read through all 14pgs yet) : https://www.head-fi.org/threads/the...ost-ideal-sound-for-non-professionals.796791/

^as aside, that whole thread & concepts is a bit over the top for me @present, don't have the time to mess with all of that, just want to find an pEQ that just works on MacOSX w/iTunes as the 'player', but also want to tweak sound system wide for any given headphones. Also been reading the mega TWS thread, seeing countless posts(they are everywhere else on this site) how ppl want to tweak the sounds for various reasons they are sensitive to various issues, too much bass, sibilance in the treble ranges, this foam tip or that etc. Everyone's ears are different & fit on any IEM makes a big difference, and my old ears are failing in higher frequencies, but I'm very particular on pretty much all frequencies(that I can still hear).

Right now my Bose QC30's (3rd set in 2yrs, prior 2 covered under warranty or replaced by Bose no charge) are showing signs of failure coming up this year sometime soon. So I'll most likely be getting a Chi-Fi cheapy or more expensive Mavin Air-ANC when that is released. SQ on the Bose QC30 is well, supposedly the best ANC (debatable) and 'good' SQ...I"m no audiofile, but imho, SQ on Bose QC30 is worse than a set of wired <$50 IEM, take your pick, not much better than the wired pods Apple used to include with their iPs. Imo, only good use for these QC30s is a specific kind of slamming bass beat (almost like Beats bias) on something like this @ just past 1:35 when he says "Yo..Drop the BASS!" hits hard @1:48, where you don't want to have the volume up high(but I can't get that 'thump' w/o having volume up to near 10...only works to have the bass blast thru your noggin at near full volume, anything lower just doesn't 'feel' the same...gotta be a basshead to understand, if your IEM's can go loud...you'll ruin your hearing fast that way! < I swear Bose engineers must have used this particular remix as their #1 target for what those the QC30 et al line, needed to produce...that sound 'signature' /snark.

Bose needs an 'accessory' tummy wireless contact subwoofer so you can 'feel' that bass while you dance along, roflmao...guess I'm just too 'old'/well past 20'something to appreciate...though I could use that whip @3:52 ...prolly NSFW in this PC era ;p

This article By Tylll is so old...2011:

https://www.innerfidelity.com/content/more-audiophile-ipad-play-eq-options

my Google search came up with this thread:

https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/38986-system-wide-equalizer-for-macosx-opinions-on-eqmac2/

Then there is this one @$2.99: https://itunes.apple.com/app/ParMusicEQH/id686198011?mt=8
Full HD Parametric Equalizer 4+
AuralWare, LLC

not free, but this looks promising:

https://www.auralware.com/EPM/Epm_Full.html

"High-Fidelity Music Parametric Equalizer for iTunes Library....Full HD Parametric Equalizer
(Left and Right Channel Controlled Separately)"

http://sonicstudio.com/amarra/asqp.php Amarra sQ+ seems to have so many features, I don't think I'd use...and it costs $.

google "AU Lab in conjunction with Soundflower" seems AU lab has problems with Yosemite (which is what I'm on, 10.10.5...thousands in software, so trying to make that last, hate modern subscription model pricing)< not sure this will do system wide anyway? one of those trouble shooting threads mentions AU Lab + SonicS (can't recall exact name) as a work around, but seems consensus was that the 'cracking' sound was an AU Lab issue.

https://github.com/RogueAmoeba/Soundflower-Original/issues/19

"Culprit is AU LAB Not the Soundflower. Use Hosting AU instead"

I do not want, right now...cause I"m way too busy, to load up plug-ins, matched up with fancy players, etc as that is too much trouble/time consuming...just want a syswide OSX that runs under 10.10 that will do pEQ of any sound source off my MBP as I don't have much time to listen to music on my iPhone 6.

TIA for any suggestions
