There does not seem to be a general discussion thread for Oriolus's products, so I figure maybe I can start one. For a dedicated thread of Oriolus's summit-fi IEM Traillii, please visit this thread.

I will begin by posting two of Oriolus's latest products.

Oriolus Isabellae

This is Oriolus's latest single DD IEM. It has received quite some attention in the Asian market from the early users of it. It may be a great entry-level option for people who want to experience Oriolus's products. It is designed to fit a wide range of music and has the Oriolus house sound of balanced, natural, and smooth. Here is a link to a comprehensive Chinese review. The Oriolus Isabellae retails for $659 at Musicteck.

Here are some more technical specs:
  • Driver: Single DD
  • Impedance: 30 Ohm
  • Sensitivity: 113dB
  • Frequency response: 10Hz~40kHz
  • Weight: 13g
Below I include some more pics of it:

Oriolus DPS-L2

The second product I want to introduce is Oriolus new DAP: DPS-L2. It is inspired by Sony’s legendary Walkman TPS-L2. Of course, the tap is just a nice animation. :) It is a limited edition product (999 units) and should retail for around $2000.

It has a 4.4 balanced headphone output and two stereo 3.5 headphone outputs. No LO.

The DAP even has a mic. By pressing the "HOT LINE" bottom of the DAP, you can enable the ambient sound mode so that you can hear the surrounding sound without taking off your IEMs.

Here are some additional functionalities/highlights of it.
  • Chip used: ES9038 Pro.
  • Native music playback supports up to PCM 32/384 and DSD 256.
  • SD card support up to 512 GB.
  • Supports Hiby Link (music playback control from your phone) and USB two-way transmission.
  • Supports Bluetooth two-way transmission.
  • Battery life is around 10-11 hours.
  • Weight: 305g.

Should be available within a month (as of March 12th, 2021).

Oooh interesting thread.

Edit: why the double single ended output? One balanced?

Good question and I don't know. Perhaps the original Walkman is designed like this?

Also, they are stereo 3.5mm outputs, just like the ones in RME ADI-2 Pro. With a proper cable, you should be able to convert it to a balanced output (such as dual 3.5mm to xlr female).

Since I have the DPS-L2, let me add: these 3.5mm ports are just like the ones on the Chord Mojo. The L/R volume sliders control only the left/right channel volumes, you will hear exactly the same thing regardless of which 3.5mm port is being used, they are basically identical outputs.

Hmmm....not sure if I like the styling of Crassirostris or Isabellae. Candy and Steampunk? Loved the original super simplistic approach in terms of design language.
First need to hear the two though....

I’ve ordered one! I was the guy that inquired about it and Andrew ordered me one and is looking into getting me the Isabellae as well. Looking forward to both:)
Nice!! Seems that lots of folks (including myself) will get the Isa too.

To verify, I guess that means musicteck is going to carry the Isabellae too even though they don't have it listed yet? I certainly want to wait for impressions, but given the crazy hype around oriolus lately, I would be interested to at least hear something of theirs.

Andrew is inquiring about the Isabellae. Should know within a few days or so.

I've inquired to Musicteck about the Oriolus Isabellae...that may be the next IEM on my hit list for the coveted spot of "single DD" IEM...something I've wanted to fill for a while.
