Hello ,

Does a Digital Optical Cable mini to Toslink exist which does not use a Toslink to Optical Mini Adaptor, to connect a MacBook to a DAC (CIAUDIO VDA•2) ?

Does the adaptor alter the signal ?

Thank you ,

So it seems to me that an adapter to mini wouldn't matter. The same bits come out.

If you want the convenience of a single piece cable Monoprice.com has a solid reputation for cables at a no-nonsense price. Their toslink to mini cables are about halfway down this page.

DISCLAIMER: I have never tried to hear the difference attributable to various optical conduits. Just a lazy skeptic.

Probably true.
As long as the adapter are well made. Meaning that its fully on line with the plug on the cable, and just bring on the light without any interference,

... will try to avoid an adaptor though .

... I hope a MacBook is an acceptable player to connect to a DAC (CIAUDIO VDA•2) then to a WA6-SE .

x2 on sysconcept.
They'll custom build the cable for you and mail it to you for less than what it costs at a big box store. They also sell right angle adaptors.

At April Music (stello DA 100) they say :
Quote:

COAX : Theoretically, all digital inputs have the same music quality.
But, we believe what we hear, and in the real world of hi-fidelity, COAX is typically better than other connections...

Anyway , I ordered the OPTOCOUPLER Mk II , thank you
