    Hey Guys,

Thinking of getting the fiio x7 mm ii which has a 2.5mm balanced trrs output, does anyone know what I need on the other end for the pm-3's? 3.5mm of course, but I see there are a few versions, trs, trrs and trrrs? I'm a little confused :)

You need 3.5mm TRRS at the headphones. (I believe the only TRRRS is the 4.4mm JEITA/SONY.) But you need to get one that will fit in the recess on the earpiece. Here's my Double Helix 3.5mm to 4.4mm balanced cable (for a Sony WM-1A), with Eidolic connectors:

Will an Ifi Nano IDSD together with LG-V20 smartphone be an good match or is an Ibasso IB14 Bushmaster an better option?

i pulled the trigger, my first planars, i hope they are good

This costs less, but not as flexible:
Do ask for the 2.5mm trrs option. Seller claims no additional charge.

I use to boost the crap (+20db) out of these things and they took it like a champ.

I loved the PM3 when I owned them. At the end I had a custom balanced cable made so that I could use them balanced with the Onkyo DP-X1 and the results were very good indeed. Then I decided to go Bluetooth for portable audio anyway so sold the Onkyo and PM3.

i will not sell them, they are special for sure, what a build quality to

the bass is tight and fast, mids forward, treble a little bit subdued after 10khz, isolation is great, the driver is very well damped maybe a little to much

I know this might sound a bit stupid but does anyone find them a touch compressed sounding? I have used them for a while now and have both a forzaaudio custom cable and a forzaaudio balanced 2,5mm (for some reason I reckon the unbalanced sounds better). It might just be my ears but some days I love them some days I think they sound very dampened. I am using an AK70. Any suggestions? Take off some of the padding? I really dont know.

yes, they are a little bit overdamped
