I've been reading great things about the oppo 970. Would it make sense, and if so what would be the best way to connect the audio output of the oppo to a PINT? Am I looking at RCA (males) to 1/8" or what? I don't currently have a home system but I'd like to assemble one piece by piece so for now the PINT is my amp.

if you already have the PINT, and it only has a 1/8" input, then yes... you should connect with an RCA->1/8" cord. they're pretty common.

of course, you could also add a DAC to the chain, but i think you'd have to spend at least $600 to get one that's a worthy upgrade from the 970HD.
