I found an old SONY D-88 cd player, made in 1988. This is a small cd player that also plays normal cds, although becoming totally non-portable. I would like to know if it's considered a good sounding source and how much should I pay for it in case I decide to buy it. BTW, it retailed for 300 dollars back in the 20th century.

I have a picture here so you know what I am taling about.

back in those day when sony are at their best, this thing should sound amazing. I have a very old player (1990 model) and man oh man...this thing has excellence sound quality.
The bass is very solid and well define. There also a good amount of low bass present, and the high is crisp and clear. The midrange is very sweet.
It's your call, wheter you want to take it or not, but a good price should not be over 30 dollars. Remember, the ESP is not capable on this unit and the rechargeable battery is no where to be ordered.
