i was thinking of buying a new pair of RCA cables, going from 1/4" on my computer sound card to RCA on my amp.

Acoustic Research would be the easiest for me to purchase, cause they have them in a local store.

Any opinions on the Pro or Master series'?

Or would it be more benificial to upgrade my speaker wire, rather than RCA?

And what exactly is an "interlink" cable?

Isn't that he brand they are constantly pushing on Ebay? I see them advertised all the time which, for some reason, tells me to be wary. I think there are a number of threads here that suggest other cables. I wouldn't rush into getting those Acoustic Research. If I'm wrong about that being the brand of ebay, someone correct me.

Acoustic Research used to be one of the premier US audio companies. Their early turntable is a classic, and they used to have a nice line of speakers as well. These days they are owned by Recoton IIRC, and have not produced much that is noteworthy in recent years.

Nevertheless, I tried a couple of their interconnects, and like them in the price range. I've used the Premier and the Pro series. The Premier series has nice tonal balance but sacrifices the last word in detail. The Pro series is a bit darker, but allows more information through. There are much better cables if you're willing to go to $50 or so, but they're pretty good in the bargain market.

"Interlink" is a brand name used by Monster cable. I tried the Monster Interlink 400 interconnect a while back and hated it. YMMV.

They sound alright, but as you upgrade, they soon become a bottleneck in the system. I'd just buy a pair of Outlaw PCA's or DH Labs BL-1 Silversonic type II's instead. (Yes, I've changed my mind about the Silversonics... More on that in another thread)

Ok, but I am looking at the Master series. They cost about 2x as much as the Premiers, so i would assume they are substancially better. I might buy a pair, and if they dont live up to the price i'll return them.

Where would I be able to purchase Outlaw PCA's or DH Labs BL-1 Silversonic type II's on the internet?

Thanks for the info so far
