i hear also that not all cd's r of the same quality?

is this true? in the sense that the music is not reproduced properly in some copies when compared to another in from the same "maker" ?

the sales dude blamed it on the cd and said the headpones was fine...now im getting the run around

but i mite b able to upgrade that to the 600's since there was a problem upon purchase.

is there a huge leap in quality...build & sound from the 590's ?
600 aussie bux is alot for a pair of headphones

Heheh, it is always a matter of taste. I don't think they are so cute either, but with sound, that means nothing. However, I think I prefer the HD590´s simple look to the HD600's kinda pimpish marble texture.

(anyone curious might check the several photos of my previous HD590 that I posted at HeadWize forums)

HD600's look more Martha Stewartish than pimpish. AKG's which like to use golden rings look pimpish.

will a cheap amp like 1 from a hifi system damage the hd 600?

or just that the quality will not b that good?

What exactly do you mean by a hi-fi system? Thats pretty vague, theres tons of hi-fi systems of varying performance. Than again if your system specifically has a "hi-fi system" sticker on it...it might only be good enough for "digital-ready" headphones!

I've got two pairs of "Digital Ready" Studio Monitor headphones. I'm still trying to find the friggin' DACs in 'em, but no luck yet.

All-in-one systems...or mini-systems are rarely hi-fi. In fact they usually sport some of the worst headphone jacks. Many people complain about the jacks coming out of their components...a mini-system is even worse. There are a few mini-systems that are good...there are many that are flashy and terrible that sport flashy LCD's and stickers and look like the designers had fun adding bass port holes everywhere.

Unfortunately the price you pay for a typical mini-system, are overpriced shoddy components stuck together. The speakers are usually terrible, the jack is terrible, the CD component is probably mediocre. And you would only need one hand to list off how many mini-systems in existance are actually a good buy.

Hmmm so perhaps I'm only slightly biased against typical mini-systems...but no HD600's off a mini-system isn't worth it.

kool what about bass and midrange?

is the treble clear as well as being "more" in the 590's?

I feel HD600s have a more mellow midrange, and many people complain about the "cold" midrange of HD590s, which lead to a cold presentation of vocals. In the bass department, I feel they are quite close. The overall sound of HD600s is more round, laid back and non-fatiguing.

Hi,

what do u mean by the "cold" midrange of HD590s?

not bassy?
or too clean?

A tough question. When the vocal part has more "meat", and is fuller, people usually perceive it as being warm, and a cold vocal presentation I think is a bit lacking in fullness and some people would describe it as "thin".
