Im looking to buy a pair of open headphones for use in public. Therefore I'd like them to have as little sound leakage as possible. Any recommendations out there? Thanks in advance.

So I've taken my Shure 1440 opens into the outside world and I can happily report that they leak very little. Just slightly more than a typical closed can. Listening volume is normal, and I tend to listen fairly loudly. They probably leak too much for a library, but listening at average levels in an office would be fine. I'm using them walking around the city and in the cafe, and they're fine. Leakage in from the outside is worse than closed cans, of course, but when music is playing, it's pretty good.

My Beyer Dynamic DT 1990 Pro's leak very little and they're open. i think its because the padding on the cups are pretty good on the Analytical pads. even the balance pads are good with leak

That's great news, the 1990 is very high on my list. Thanks.
Keep in mind, the sound leaking will happen no matter what because its open, but i find the DT 1990's the metal laser cut slits on the side with the grill is pretty decent. change the pads up depending on how much noise isolation you get. but keep in mind. its not 100% sealing, you will get leaking. i'd say its quiet enough for work at the office, but maybe not a library in school.
