Quick question from a "layman" who knows nothing about amp circuits...

"All other things being equal..."

Is the OPA 2107 (dual channel) op amp directly interchangeable with the OPA 627 (single channel) op amp?

What is the distinction between "single channel" and "dual channel" op amps?

Thanks...

You cannot replace single-channel with dual-channels and vice versa.

Stereo is made up of 2 channels, hence one dual-channel op-amp or two single-channel op-amp is required.. You can get adaptors, I think, to have two single-channel op-amps to fit into one op-amp slot to essentially, function as one dual-channel op-amp..but theres no way to use a dual-channel as a single-channel, that I know of anyway..
