Hello,

I own a ONN X5 (and a Hidizs AP100 and a Fiio X3 1st Gen). Bought it from Hongkongeek.com for about 40 Euro's. Great little player. The design and form factor are great, the sound is above average and it has a radio! The navigation buttons are a little bit unusual. Every button has more functions when you scroll through the menu. But you can get used to it. I tried to update the firmware, but that didn't work for me. Everything was in Chinese:grin:! But besides that, the sound is great, most hi-res formats are supported, the display shows album art and the player is small and well build. The player accepts sd cards, but not those of 128gb or higher. I bought a second ONN X5 for my wife, she thought the thingy was cute .....

Well, the other two players have a beter GUI, more functions, bigger screens, more buttons and and and..... But they also cost more than the ONN X5 (about 5 or even 7 times). Soundwise the difference is not that big. Plus, the ONN X5 is much smaller, ideal for travelling and has a fm-radio. If you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars/euro's I couldn't think of a better hi-res player than the ONN X5!

Different ones. Fostex te-05 in-ears, Panasonic RP-HD 10 over-ears, Grado iGrado and AiAiAi Tracks. I prefer the AiAiAi Tracks. They are lightweight and a bit bassy. The best sound I get with the Panasonic. But the AiAiAi cost only 29 Euro's. So for about 70 Euro's you can have a nice sounding rig that is ideal for travelling.

Got one on the go.
Will do a full review once I listen to it enough.
I'm intrigued by this player since lot of time and can't find review so....feel I must do one on my own and bought one on sale!
Will compare it with Ruizu X02, Xduoo X3 and Ipod touch 5gen.

Cheers!

You were RIGHT dude! ONN X5 is INCREDIBLE SOUNDING for the price!
UI suck and is the same as the cheap Idealist player, but the sound! Can't beleive the price of this entry level HIFI (yes, hifi) beast!
It is not exactly in the same league than Xduoo X3 but not far, really not far. Put a Line out on this and you got a little miracle in your pocket.

Will listen more and do review, but I can say it read flac and SACD as stated, and sound is clear and no background hiss like cheaper player (Idealist, Sony, Ruizu).

Too bad people don't know it more, i'm afraid it will disappear of the market because of this...need to be more recognize here!

Just picked up an Onn X5.  Gearbest had a small sale, plus I had a few GB Bucks left over, so it only cost me $31.31 USD.  For that price, it is a no-brainer, I had to get one.

I also have the FiiO M3, so I will be comparing the two soon and I will also throw some pictures up on here as well.

@Martin Zeef, I do not see any update for the X5, either on the English or Chinese site.  Do you have a link?

I'm all about SOUND so I will let you judge the rest for now...
Something at this price that can play HIRES music is nothing less than a Miracle, wathever others quirks it can have.

Cheers!
