Onkyo Receiver headphone out Balance is off?

Listening to headphones from my Onkyo SR601, the output is heavy on the right, with the left channel being weaker. If I put the plug in part way, the left is full volume, but no right.

Further in the left goes quieter, but still no right.

Further in left is louder, further still it is quieter, then right comes in at full volume.

Anyone know if there is anything I can check, or do I need to have it looked at?

My headphone out is louder on the left side than the right on my headphone output jack on my receiver.

But the record out sounds balanced. I use my headphone amp on my record out to listen to the radio and it sounds ok.
