hiya.. i was just wondering after reading some posts about the ability o drive headphones using just the CD player HP socket... i tried my new 580`s few mins ago and found i couldent get the output knob even halfway b4 it became almost to load to listen to.. does this mean its powefull enuf to frive my new HP`s? or is there another factor?? in the mnual it says that the HP socket has an optimum load impedance of 8 - 200.. its all greek to me

The Onkyo should be able to drive most headphones without trouble to a good volume. The sound quality could be improved upon with a dedicated headphone amplifier driven fron the line output jacks, however.
